We brengen een lange tijd door onder die boom terwijl Jackson me het lange verhaal vertelt over hoe hij drie weken achter elkaar opbleef en alleen toegaf omdat hij zich aan het eind zo ontzettend verveelde. Over hoe hij 's nachts alleen ronddwaalde, klusjes deed en ging hardlopen, gewoon om iets te doen te hebben. Over hoe hij het dromen miste en rust miste, omdat hij niet echt moe was, op een lichamelijke manier, maar mentaal uitgeput.

“ We hebben slaap nodig, denk ik, om onze gedachten uit te schakelen,” zegt hij aan het eind, nadenkend. “Het leven is al moeilijk genoeg, we hebben tijd nodig om alles los te laten, denk ik.”
