„Wie lange ist sie schon so?“, fragt Amanda besorgt und überprüft Amaras Vitalfunktionen.

Das Kind ist weiß, blass und unbeweglich und hat Fieber, seine Temperatur ist hoch und sein Herzschlag ist langsam.

Amanda schaut zu Leila auf, die in ständiger Traurigkeit auf ihr Kind herabblickt und an seinen Fingern knabbert. Ihre Augen sind rot und geschwollen, mit dunklen Tränensäcken unter ihren schlaflosen Augen. In ihrem Herzen kreist die Angst hin und her, die Sorge übernimmt die Kontrolle über ihren Verstand. Sie kann nicht schlafen, sie kann nicht klar denken, sie kann nichts tun.
