PAT'S STANDPUNT

Ik was ongelooflijk angstig en bezorgd om Pat die bij een zoveelste ongeluk betrokken was. Ik checkte voortdurend mijn telefoon voor updates en nieuws over Valerie's toestand. Mijn gezicht was gespannen van bezorgdheid en mijn ogen waren gevuld met tranen terwijl ik me het ergste scenario voorstelde. Toen Gabe me vertelde wat er met Valerie was gebeurd, was ik in shock en kon ik het niet helpen me af te vragen of ik iets had kunnen doen om het te voorkomen. Ondanks mijn eigen angsten en zorgen, wist ik dat ik eigenlijk niets had kunnen doen.

Ik zat nu vol spanning te wachten op Valeries komst, samen met Gabe en Valeries grootouders. Haar moeder en vader waren niet aanwezig in het ziekenhuis en ik was er vrij zeker van dat niemand de moeite had genomen om hen in te lichten.
