"Open the door, it's Pearl." A familiar voice came from the door. I sat on the sofa, staring blankly at the door. Hearing this voice, I glanced at my sister who was busy in the kitchen, then got up to open the door.

Pearl stood lazily outside the door, looking at me with a hint of impatience, as if she was annoyed that I was too slow to open the door. However, I didn't care about her attitude, I just knew that she was my lover and my heart should be filled with joy. So, I went to meet her happily and held her hand tightly with my right hand.

"It's Pearl! Why did you come to see me suddenly?" I asked, with surprise in my tone.

"Aren't you very busy recently?" Pearl looked down at me with a frown, as if she didn't expect me to be so enthusiastic.

My left arm was in plaster and wrapped with thick bandages, but I didn't care and let it hang down to the side of my body. Pearl might think that I can't leave her, so she deliberately put on this look to try to win her favor again. However, she didn't know...

I had forgotten that she was the one who broke my hand, and that I was just Nathan's substitute. I pulled her into the house, completely immersed in my own world.

My sister in the kitchen heard the noise, came out and saw Pearl , she was furious. She pulled me into the house, hid, and then slapped Pearl in the face.

Pearl 's face was immediately swollen and red, and blood oozed from the corner of her mouth. She raised her hand to wipe off the blood and sneered at her sister. My sister's eyes were wide open, she grabbed Pearl's collar and yelled: "How dare you come to my house! Do you know that you have ruined my brother's life!"

Pearl grabbed her sister's hand and said sarcastically, "I promised him that I would marry him. He won't need these things in the future. I will ensure his life. Isn't your brother very happy to see me now? Sophia, don't push your luck!"

Hearing this, my sister completely exploded. She slapped Pearl in the face again along the hem of her clothes and yelled, "You know nothing!"

The two of them wrestled with each other, and finally collapsed, crying silently in the corner. But I couldn't hear the quarrel outside. My mind was only thinking about the new medical problem I solved a few months ago, which I hadn't had time to share with Pearl .

So I started searching the whole house, and finally found the notebook that my sister had hidden in a corner. I looked at the notebook with regret, thinking that I had not found the medical encyclopedia that my mother had given me, but since Pearl had always wanted to read the notebook she had given me, I would give it to her.

I walked out the door holding the notebook, staring blankly at the two people at the door. Meeting Pearl 's gaze, I forced a smile.

" Pearl , I recently solved a new medical problem. Haven't you always wanted to hear me tell you about it? Can I tell you now?" I asked.

Pearl looked at me in bewilderment, not knowing what I was doing. I raised my hand to pick up the notebook, but was horrified to find that I couldn't even lift my right hand!

"Sister... Pearl... Why can't I lift my right hand? Ah..." I opened my mouth and screamed, and the notebook in my hand fell to the ground along with my right hand.

I ran around like crazy, pulling my hair hard, but found that only one hand could move. I couldn't control my emotions and screamed at the top of my lungs. Facing Pearl 's face, I suddenly seemed to be back to that cold and damp night, with the smell of blood in the air...

I crawled forward, Pearl wanted to reach out to hold me, but was stopped by my sister who had reacted. My sister hugged me who was terrified and comforted me: " Pearl... I don't like you anymore, please let me go... I can't lose my dream... I don't like you anymore..."

Pearl's eyes suddenly turned red when she heard what I said. She started to get anxious and asked my sister what was going on. While my sister was trying to stabilize me, she yelled at Pearl: "How dare you ask me! Don't you have a big family? Aren't you very capable? Can't you check everything? Then how come you don't know what happened to my brother!"

Pearl couldn't believe it, after all, she only broke one of my arms. She stepped back and rushed out the door to find out what happened to me. My sister stroked my head and stroked my hair.

"Ray, don't be afraid, no one will hurt you again. Can you believe me?" my sister asked gently.

I just looked up at her, holding up my right hand with shaking hands. "Sister... why can't I move my hand? Why can't I even hold the notebook? Sister... will I never be able to stand on the operating table in the future..." I fainted in her arms, leaving her trembling secretly, hugging the unconscious me tightly.
