I crouched helplessly in a cold corner of the hospital, holding my left arm that was accidentally broken. My eyes were empty, as if the whole world had collapsed.
My sister noticed something was wrong with me during the phone call, and she rushed out of the house without hesitation, only to find me at the door in a state of utter despair. At that moment, her heart ached like a knife.
Pearl was from a wealthy family, and she made a few casual remarks to settle the matter, and promised to compensate me. However, for me, the light on the operating table had gone out forever, and I could never stand on it again. I sat there blankly, seemingly unresponsive to everything around me, just holding my arms tightly, as if that was all I had. My sister looked at me, her eyes full of helplessness and heartache, and she could only take me home first.
I held my sister's hand tightly, my eyes were so red that they seemed to bleed. "Sister..." I forced a smile, but my eyes became even redder. "I have another operation to do in two days, so I can't stay at home all the time. Can you take me back to the hospital?"
She choked and looked at me motionlessly, as if she was looking at a life that was about to disappear.
"Ray , don't be afraid..." She gently wiped away the tears from the corners of my eyes, "Sister will protect you..."
" Sister! Sister, I beg you... please send me back to the hospital..." I looked at her pleadingly, my eyes full of helplessness and despair.
Finally, my sister couldn't stand me looking at her like this anymore. After she settled me down, she ran to a corner and broke down crying. But I was just a bystander. My mind seemed to be covered with a layer of cloth, and I couldn't remember many things.
It was as if there was an eraser in my mind, erasing my memories bit by bit. I felt scared, but somehow I was looking forward to forgetting everything.
Until one day, I went out alone, thinking about having lunch with my sister at noon. However, when I came back, I didn't know how to get home. I walked around the streets around the community again and again, but I couldn't see the road ahead, nor could I see where my home was.
I can't find my home.
I searched my mind countless times, but I couldn't remember how to go. I unconsciously hugged my left arm tightly, trying my best to control my emotions. I didn't know what to do, I could only keep running forward, running...
I ran wildly in the alley, as if to escape from this confusing world. I heard my own rapid breathing, and my heart beat faster, pulling my face full of tears.
Until I ran into my sister who was rushing to find me.
She grabbed my shoulders and tried to calm me down. I couldn't help crying, looking around, and muttering, "Sister, I can't find... I can't find the way home..."
"I, I can't go back, sister..." I burst into tears, "Why can't I remember anything? What should I do, sister..."
I cried and grabbed my sister's clothes tightly. All my emotions exploded to the extreme at this moment.
"Ray!" She looked at me seriously, "Calm down!"
I was frightened and stared at her without blinking. She patted my back gently and said, "Don't be afraid, I'll take you away. Let's go see a doctor, okay?"
She leaned over, supported me with her whole body, and took me to the hospital without looking back. I knew she was sad and anxious. But I really forgot so many things...
