Ons relaxte weekend kwam een paar uur later abrupt ten einde. We stonden bij het krieken van de dag op om ons voor te bereiden op de reis. De tweeling had vooruit gepland en had al een koffer voor ons allebei ingepakt.

Alec had het griezelige vermogen om direct uit bed te springen en naar de douche te gaan. Kade sjokte op mijn hielen naar de keuken, de geur van cafeïne volgend. Twee kopjes later voelde ik me niet meer zo koud en wazig. Ik liet Kade in de keuken om zijn eigen kopje op te drinken en ging met Alec onder de douche staan.

" Ben je zenuwachtig, schat?" vroeg Alec me terwijl hij de shampoo in mijn hoofdhuid kneedde, terwijl ik hulpeloos tegen hem aanleunde.
