After the anesthetic wore off, Raymond Jones slowly opened his eyes and looked me in the eye. He smiled at me with difficulty and asked softly, "Are you okay?"

I shook my head. “It’s okay.”

He breathed a sigh of relief, "I'm relieved that you're okay." After saying this, he fell into sleep again.
