The suffocating feeling of oppression came over her like a tide again. Victoria was disgusted by being treated like a thief, but she knew she was in the wrong and could not blame anyone else, so she could only bear the self-blame silently.
The whole world seemed to be blaming her for her mistakes, as if her admiration for Edward was an unforgivable crime, a manifestation of shamelessness and wishful thinking. She was even forced to say the words against her will: "Don't worry, I'm just his sister and I won't cause you any trouble."
Sarah shrugged lightly, with a hint of amusement in her eyes: "I don't think so. I know your feelings for him very well."
