I decided to pack my things in Derek and I's wedding room. However, when I arrived at the wedding room, I found that Derek had already returned.
He sat on the sofa and lazily raised his eyelids and said, "Are you back after all the trouble?"
I tried my best to control my trembling voice and said, "I didn't make trouble Derek. I was serious about breaking up. I came back to pack my things."
Unexpectedly, Derek didn't say a word, just sat there quietly with his legs crossed, his hands folded, looking at me with a smile.
I suppressed my discomfort and started packing up my things. I don't have a lot of stuff. I only have a few things. Most of them were bought by Derek after I moved in. When we first started living together, he frowned at my colorful mouthwash cups and towels and said, "Luna, why are your things so tacky and ugly?" He replaced all those things the next day.
I went to argue with him but he said nonchalantly: "Your stuff is too low-grade and not presentable, so I changed it." That was the first time I wanted to break up. I don't understand why personal preferences have to be divided into high and low?
But my mother advised me: "If Derek likes you, just let him be. You have been together for so many years, you can't break up over such a small thing." That time I compromised.
It took me a long time to realize that this was not a trivial matter at all. Anything that makes you feel uncomfortable should not be a trivial matter.
