I am an orphan with no one to rely on, and my mother's home has long become a distant memory.
Fortunately, my best friend Tina opened her warm arms to me and gave me shelter.
However, when I learned that Francis refused to get a marriage certificate with me on the pretext of not wanting to get married, but resolutely registered for marriage in order to fulfill Linda's wish, my heart was broken.
When Tina learned about this, she was furious and even gave Francis' ancestors a "cordial" greeting.
She tapped my forehead and taught me earnestly: "I have warned you long ago that there is no such thing as true non-marriage in the world. The fact that they can say that means they already have someone in their heart. They are not willing to give up the existing one, but want to pursue the new one. They are really greedy!"
" You, you are too obsessed with that bastard, so you were deceived by him and exhausted both physically and mentally!"
My heart was touched and I broke down emotionally, crying while hugging Tina.
Yes, I was like a bootlicker, pursuing Francis for three years and meeting his parents for two years.
I thought that as long as I stayed with him forever, one day he would see my good side and empty his heart for me to move in.
However, I obviously underestimated the lethality of a man's first love.
Linda's words made my five years of hard work go to waste.
Tina hugged me distressedly and comforted me gently: "We women should be able to let go and not seek death for a man. Even if we take a step back, it's a good thing that you didn't get married with him. You don't have a scumbag ex-husband and save the trouble of divorce."
I sniffed and nodded, "It seems to be the case."
Tina was worried about my health and insisted that I stay at her house for the confinement period.
It was not until more than a month later, when I had completely recovered, that she reluctantly agreed to let me move out.
However, what I didn't expect was that Francis knocked on my door as soon as I checked into the hotel.
"Have you had enough of the trouble? If so, come back with me." He said coldly.
I ignored him and prepared to close the door.
He suddenly used his arm to block the crack in the door, and was stunned when he met my cold and distant eyes with a frown on his face.
For a moment, the air seemed to freeze and no one spoke.
When I thought his eyes were going to pierce through me for so long, Francis finally spoke: "I'm sorry about the child. Linda had no ill intentions and it was just an impulse that she got the marriage certificate with me."
"If you don't believe me, I can ask her to explain it to you," he added.
