After returning home, I counted my luggage one last time. I was busy until the early morning, and I unexpectedly found Bella Smith's diary. The diary recorded how Bella Smith met Steven in a youth hostel a few years ago when she was at her lowest point. The most important pages were torn off, leaving only one sentence: "That was the happiest time of my life."

The diaries that followed, one after another, all expressed their nostalgia for Steven. On the day she agreed to my proposal, she wrote in her diary: "I was young and ignorant, and I mistook sand for stars, and missed the only love of my life. No matter how hard I tried, I could not turn Alex into Steven. The past cannot be retrieved, and for Steven 's sake, I will treat Alex well ."

Her handwriting is elegant and graceful, and every stroke seems to be engraved in my heart. The falling tears blurred the words on the diary, and I looked up at the gifts Bella Smith gave me over the years: from watches, sports cars, and high-end fashions to dolls, milk tea, and game consoles. Without exception, all of them are Steven's favorites.

Then I looked at myself in the mirror: short hair, grey sweater, just like a bigger version of Steven . I thought Bella Smith and I had been childhood sweethearts for ten years, so there must be some friendship between us. But...

She had witnessed the harm Steven had done to me over the years, but she still chose to believe him; she knew that the person I hated the most in my life was Steven, but she still chose to make me his substitute.

I was filled with resentment and anger. I smashed the mirror in front of me and shaved off my hair that I had carefully groomed every day. After doing all this, I tore off the last page of the calendar, which had my last wish written on it: "Hold the most grand wedding and marry my beloved Bella Smith." Now, the wedding was ruined.

The person I once loved most has changed beyond all recognition.

I crumpled the paper into a ball and threw it away.

I took a taxi to the airport alone without taking anything.

At noon, the moment I sat down, Bella Smith called.

There was a hint of crying in her voice.

"Alex, where have you been?"

The warning sound of the plane about to take off sounded.

I didn't answer, turned off my phone, leaned back in my seat, and fell into a deep sleep.
