The next day, I arrived at Cheryl's house as scheduled. Her parents were very polite when they saw me. They immediately served me tea and chatted with me. Cheryl was busy in the kitchen alone.

Cheryl's mother smiled and said, "After Cheryl came back yesterday, she locked herself in the house all day. But when she heard that you were coming to our house for dinner today, she drove me and your uncle Li out of the kitchen and insisted on cooking by herself."
