The interview with the lawyer went smoothly because Ivy and I had no financial disputes. The house, car and savings were all in her name. The lawyer proposed two options: one was divorce by agreement, and he would draft the divorce agreement and try his best to gain the greatest benefit for me; the other was to go through legal procedures. Since Ivy was unfaithful to the marriage first, there was a high probability that I would win more than half of the property. I chose the first option. After all, we had been married for five years, and there was no need to get entangled in a lawsuit over property.
After leaving the law firm, I received a call from Ivy . "Honey, come back soon. I made a lot of delicious food." She said excitedly. I asked in astonishment, "You made it?" After five years of marriage, Ivy has never entered the kitchen once!
" Yes, Ryan's work has been a huge success. I invited him to my house and made a table of dishes to celebrate for him." She explained. I stopped opening the car door and felt completely relieved. It turns out that Ivy is not unable to cook, but I am not the one who makes her willingly enter the kitchen!
"Did you hear that, honey? Ryan specifically asked me to call you and say he wants to have a couple of drinks with you." She continued. I calmly replied, "I heard it, I'll be right back." Then I hung up the phone.
When I heard this, I had an illusion: as if Ivy and Ryan were the couple, and I was just a guest who was going to visit them! I shook my head, got rid of this absurd idea, and walked back into the law firm. "Don't wait three days. Prepare the divorce agreement now, and I can pay more." I said firmly.
