To my surprise, when I walked downstairs of the company with an umbrella I borrowed from a colleague, I saw Lucas's car parked on the side of the road. I subconsciously looked up at the sky, and there were only dark clouds and fine raindrops.
I was just about to open the passenger door when Lucas poked his head out and said, "You sit in the back seat. We're going to pick up Sunny later . She gets carsick easily." It turned out that he was here to pick up Sunny who was shopping . Since my company was in a busy downtown area, I was the one who was taken along.
The car quickly drove to the entrance of the shopping mall across the street. From a distance, I saw Sunny waving at us with a few shopping bags. There were three girls of her age beside her. The car stopped in front of Sunny , and she sat in the passenger seat and said coquettishly, " Brother Lucas , please take some of my friends home later." Before she finished speaking, a girl had already opened the door of the back seat. When she saw me, she was stunned, "Why is there someone in the back?" The scene was a little awkward for a while.
Sunny then noticed me sitting in the back seat. She pretended to be surprised and said, " Sophia , I didn't know you were here. How about I take a taxi home with my friends and not trouble Lucas ?" Lucas did not hesitate to hold down her hand that was about to unbuckle the seat belt, turned around and winked at me, and whispered, " Sophia , take a taxi home by yourself."
Haha, I was kicked out of the car before I even had time to warm up my seat. Fortunately, the weather was good, and the rain stopped when Lucas's taillights disappeared from my sight, so I didn't feel as embarrassed as last time. My boss called me and told me that my job transfer application had been approved and I would be able to go to work at the Beijing head office next month. In fact, the head office has sent me several invitations in the past two years, but because I couldn't bear to leave Lucas, I declined such a good job opportunity. Fortunately, I came to my senses and it's not too late.
