Soon, Shawna called.

"I see that you have already checked in at the hotel. Did you arrive at the hotel smoothly?" she asked.

I replied calmly, “Yeah.” Actually, I had no choice but to check into the hotel because my suitcase was still in her car.

Shawna couldn't wait to continue, "I left your suitcase in the hotel lobby, come down and get it yourself."

I asked curiously, “Where are you going?”

She replied as a matter of course, "I'll take Evan to the night market, you can rest in the hotel."

There was a rustling sound from the other end of the phone, followed by Evan's apologetic voice.

" Simon , my car broke down on the road. I didn't expect Sister Shawna to come back to pick me up and leave you on the road..."

I vaguely heard Shawna sneer at the side: "I told you not to worry, he's a grown man, how could he get lost?" Evan quickly said: "It's all my fault, don't blame Sister Shawna." Shawna responded angrily: "Why apologize to him? You did nothing wrong!"

"Sister Shawna, don't say that. Brother Simon will be angry if he hears it." Evan advised.

I listened to their conversation quietly and responded calmly: "I'm not angry, go have fun."

After taking a shower, I sat on the sofa in the hotel and browsed my phone, and suddenly received a message. It was from Evan : "Brother Simon , it's a pity that you didn't come, there are so many delicious foods in the night market!" Then, one photo after another jumped into my eyes.

Shawna fed him grilled squid and lined up to buy him stinky tofu. He smeared marshmallows on Shawna's face, and they licked a creative ice cream together... In the end, Evan asked, "Simon, what do you want to eat? I'll bring it to you."

I replied, “No.”

Recalling the trip with Shawna half a year ago , I suggested going to the night market to taste local delicacies, but she was sitting on the sofa in the hotel playing games and perfunctorily said to me: "It's all junk food. It's easy to get fat if you eat it. I won't go."

It was not until twelve o'clock in the morning that Shawna came back. She threw a dirty takeaway box in front of me and said: " Evan was afraid that you would be hungry, so he packed some for you."

I opened it and frowned. Inside was a hodgepodge of leftovers. Shawna continued, "Evan's room is next door. I'll go over and play a few games with him. You go to sleep first."

As soon as she left, I threw the box into the trash. Shawna didn't come back until the next morning.

I curled my lips, picked up my luggage that had been packed long ago, and took the high-speed train back home alone.
