Wendy raised her head proudly:
"Of course, the male protagonists in the books all like kind and pure female protagonists."
She suddenly thought of something and looked at me suspiciously:
"Sophia, weren't you the one who opposed my ideas before? Why are you supporting them today?"
I made up some random words to fool her, saying that these homeless people looked unusual and had a lot of temperament.
Wendy nodded thoughtfully.
This time I didn't object, but she became a little unsure.
She turned to look at our other roommate, Lily:
"Lily, do you think Sophia is right?"
Lily closed her phone and looked at me with a raised eyebrow:
"Sophia, are you serious? Do you really support Wendy in adopting strays?"
I shrugged.
"Of course, you object?"
Lily gritted her teeth, sat back on the stool and said nothing.
I looked at her hypocritical back and sneered.
I knew what she was thinking. She didn't support Wendy's approach, but she didn't say it. She always encouraged me to be the first to take action.
In my previous life, she saw with her own eyes that Wendy drugged me and gave me to a homeless person, but not only did she not tell the police, she turned out to be a distorted version of the truth.
When my parents came to her house crying and asked her if she knew anything, she just smiled faintly:
"Sophia, her private life is really messy. She often brings men home."
"Wendy and I were very distressed. We advised her many times but she wouldn't listen."
“Aunt and uncle, you are not too old yet. Instead of crying, you might as well have another child and raise him/her well.”
These two sentences were the last straw that broke the camel’s back for my parents.
I closed my eyes tightly to resist the urge to stab her to death.
Now that I'm reborn, there's still a chance for everything. Neither of these two can escape.
Wendy stood aside with a smile:
"Lily, if you don't say anything, I'll take it as your consent."
Lily turned around and winked at me wildly, and I said loudly:
"Lily, what's wrong with your eyes? Is there a bug? Why do you keep blinking?"
Wendy's face immediately sank:
"Lily, what do you mean? If you don't want to, just say so. Why are you acting like this?"
After saying that, he slammed the door and walked out.
