When Alex Smith introduced me, the look David Smith gave me made me feel mixed emotions.
After a brief greeting, I lowered my eyes and walked into the house.
Sure enough, May Brown was in the house, getting agitated.
"Sister-in-law, are you hungry?"
She both shook her head and nodded, so I pulled her toward the makeshift stove in the yard.
"I'll take you to find something to eat. I just saw they have a pot of beef that's already cooked."
But she held me tightly and refused to step out of the room, saying that Alex Smith's mother told her that cows were being slaughtered outside and asked her not to go out.
"My mother said that killing a cow is very bloody and scary. A long nail is hammered into the cow's head. It is not good for the baby in the belly."
"The killing has been completed and the ground has been cleaned up. It's okay, let's go."
After coming out, I scooped her a bowl of beef soup, but her eyes were fixed on the basin of cow blood on the ground, and her throat kept swallowing saliva.
Even after she finished drinking the soup, she would glance at the basin of blood from time to time.
I sneered in my heart, the fish took the bait.
Parasites such as roundworms are fine in the larval stage, they just compete with the human body for nutrients.
But for something like the level in her stomach, it usually needs to be suppressed with oil. However, they are particularly sensitive to the smell of blood.
Especially when they are hungry, they will crawl out following the smell, and the host will uncontrollably want to get closer.
"Sister-in-law, are you scared by the sight of blood? Let me have someone take it away."
Hearing what I said, the two aunties who came to help with cooking took the initiative to carry the basin of blood into the woodshed next to them.
"Smith family daughter-in-law, don't be afraid. The blood looks scary now because it's bright red, but it will taste delicious when it clots."
I also helped May Brown into the house, and told her to call her when dinner was ready.
When no one could find her, I knew something good was about to happen.
Someone said something, but I seemed to see her go to the woodshed.
The moment the woodshed door opened, Alex Smith's mother's scream echoed in his ears.
"The Smith family has mad cow disease!"
May Brown had fainted on the bloody ground with her eyes closed, and her life or death was unknown.
In her slightly opened mouth, something was wriggling and trying to get out. The head was exploring the cow's blood, but the tail was still in her mouth.
When all this was clearly presented, the people standing in front and Alex Smith could not help vomiting, and his mother fainted in his eldest brother's arms.
I walked closer to take a closer look and told everyone not to panic. "Go get a torch and pliers and just grab the worm out."
In the end, no one enjoyed the banquet because someone was too timid to call the police, saying that there were giant bugs in the village that ate people.
Of course, people who have seen the scene probably won’t be able to eat for several days.
