When I got home, I was exhausted and fell on the bed and fell into a deep sleep.
It has been a long time since I had such a peaceful sleep.
I was woken up by the noise of playing at home while I was half asleep.
I walked out of the room confused, only to see Luna and Alex.
They sat on the sofa, looking at the laptop on the coffee table in ambiguous postures.
When I walked up behind them, they still didn't notice my arrival.
"What are you doing?"
My sudden voice startled Alex. He jumped up from the sofa and looked at me in panic.
"Brother Ethan Brown, when did you return to China? Why didn't you tell us?"
us?
It seems that when I was not at home, they did a lot of ambiguous things under the guise of innocence.
" Then why were you in my house?"
I asked Alex, but my eyes were fixed on Luna.
"He just returned to China and had no place to live, so I let him live here."
"Oh, then Miss Ming is really considerate and enthusiastic." My husband could have waited while the riots occurred abroad, but she brought her junior brother back home early and let Alex live in our house.
"Ethan Brown, Alex is young and has no social experience. I'm just worried that he might get into danger if he's a kid out there."
"What about me? When you left me alone in Country Y, did you ever think about what I would encounter?"
My question left her speechless.
"The apartment we rented is very safe. What could possibly happen? Besides..."
Luna paused.
"Aren't you back safe and sound?"
I'm fine.
How ironic, I came home after a narrow escape from death, but in her eyes I'm fine.
I suddenly lost interest in debating with her.
Seeing me turning around to leave, Luna suddenly grabbed me, as if to comfort me but also as if to express guilt.
"It won't happen again. You must be tired after the journey. I'll get you some hot water. Take a nice bath and relax."
I smiled and broke free from her hand.
"Don't bother, I am sorry to bother you two."
"Ethan Brown!"
Luna frowned in dissatisfaction.
"Don't be petty."
The tense atmosphere gradually escalated, and Alex suddenly spoke with a tearful voice:
"Brother Ethan Brown, Senior Sister Ming, this is all my fault. I shouldn't have caused you any trouble. I will move out soon, so please don't let our relationship be ruined because of me."
With tears in his eyes, he ran to the guest room to pack his things.
It's as if I've suffered a great injustice.
Luna and I were in a stalemate in the living room.
"He's just a kid, why are you arguing with him? What if something happens to him outside?"
I pulled the corners of my lips and smiled bitterly:
"If you're worried, you can continue to accompany him."
When Alex came out with his luggage, Luna got up and ran to help him pick it up.
"I'll take him to find a hotel and come back soon."
After saying that, she slammed the door and left.
