Chapter 002: Flash Marriage Certificate
William was slightly surprised, then he smiled: "Since Miss Smith has the courage to get married quickly, why should I be afraid? Besides, I have a good impression of Miss Smith. However, Miss Smith must think clearly, because I have two children."
"Those two children are very cute. I fell in love with them at first sight. I don't mind becoming their mother." Elizabeth responded gently, thinking to herself that after all, these two children were not his biological children.
"Have you brought all your documents?" William asked.
Elizabeth took out her household registration booklet and ID card from her bag, gently placed them on the table, and said shyly, "Don't be afraid of Mr. Moore laughing at me. I always bring all my documents with me every time I go on a blind date, thinking that if we are right, we can get the marriage certificate right away, once and for all."
However, after countless blind dates, she still hasn't met the person she likes and has been criticized repeatedly. Therefore, she is still on the road of blind dates.
"Miss Smith is indeed bold and resolute, which coincides with my opinion." William praised, "Wait a moment, I will have someone send the household registration book over."
" Okay." Elizabeth nodded in agreement.
William stood up, took out his cell phone and called his brother Carlson . When the call was connected, he said in a low voice: " Carlson , send the household registration booklet to me immediately. I'll wait for you in the cafe on the first floor of Guangcheng Hotel."
"Brother, what do you want the household registration book for?" Carlson asked curiously.
"Don't ask so many questions. Just send it here quickly. I need it urgently." William said in a dignified tone. As the head of the Moore family, he was always very dignified in front of his brothers and sisters, and no one dared to disobey his orders.
Although Carlson was curious, he didn't dare to ask any more questions. He agreed and hung up the phone.
William returned to sit next to Elizabeth and explained, "I've asked someone to deliver the household registration booklet. It may take about ten to twenty minutes."
Elizabeth said she understood and that she could wait for that long.
While waiting, William ordered a cup of coffee for Elizabeth. Although Elizabeth looked plain like a country girl, her manners while drinking coffee revealed her elegant temperament. William thought to himself that if this girl dressed up a little, she would be as bright and shining as a pearl covered in dust.
The two took this opportunity to get to know each other. From William , Elizabeth learned that the Moore family was a large family with strict family traditions and harmonious relationships among brothers, uncles and nephews. William was the eldest of this generation, and he had more than a dozen cousins. Hearing this, Elizabeth almost choked on her coffee, and cursed the matchmaker again for exaggerating and misleading. The matchmaker had said that William was the only son in the family, and although he worked as a bricklayer at a construction site, his family was well-off, so she could be the head of the family if she married him, without having to deal with complicated relationships with sisters-in-law.
But the actual situation is that William has a younger brother, and a series of cousins, more than a dozen in total.
"The construction site where you work is nearby, right?" Elizabeth asked tentatively.
William's black eyes flickered, and he replied, "I did come to the construction site today, it's nearby."
The Moore family group is involved in the real estate field, and the construction sites near the Guangcheng Hotel are their group's investment projects. He came here to inspect today, and in order to understand the real situation, he deliberately disguised himself as a worker.
Unexpectedly, this action unexpectedly earned him a wife who was both brave and interesting.
"We're going to the Civil Affairs Bureau to handle the formalities later. Do you need to ask for leave from the foreman?" Elizabeth asked with concern.
"Yes." William took out his phone again, "I will ask the foreman for three days' leave now."
"Half a day should be enough," Elizabeth reminded. After all, it doesn't take that long to get the certificate.
"We are married now that we have obtained the marriage certificate. We have to spend a few days to get to know each other." William said with a smile.
Elizabeth said nothing more. Not long after William made the "leave" call, Carlson sent the household registration book. William did not let his brother see Elizabeth , and hurriedly drove him away after receiving the household registration book.
Carlson felt that his elder brother was quite strange today, but he had no idea where to ask, which made him even more curious.
Elizabeth's glasses were accidentally broken, and she wanted to get a new pair first, but considering the tight time, she decided to get the marriage certificate first. After getting the marriage certificate, she went to get a pair of glasses, buy fertilizer, and then returned home.
An hour later, the two walked out of the Civil Affairs Bureau, each holding a small red booklet in their trouser pockets - the marriage certificate.
Elizabeth felt that she had completed the most important event in her life, and from then on, she no longer needed to be urged by her parents to get married, and could devote herself to her career with peace of mind. She was in a good mood, and took the initiative to extend her hand to William at the door of the Civil Affairs Bureau , smiling and saying: " Mr. Moore , please take care of me in the future."
William smiled with his dark eyes and shook her hand back: "Please take care of me as well."
"Where do you live? I'll take you home." William asked considerately.
"No, I have something else to do. You should go back first." Elizabeth declined his offer and added, "Let's exchange phone numbers and add WeChat so that we can contact each other in the future. I'll send you my location when I get home."
"Okay." William agreed happily.
After the two exchanged contact information, Elizabeth waved goodbye to her new husband and squeezed onto the bus to leave. William stood there and watched her go away. After a while, he said to himself: "She seems to be afraid that I will pester her."
Then he took out his cell phone and told his bodyguard to pick him up from the Civil Affairs Bureau and take him back to the company to process the mountain of documents.
Elizabeth went to an optical shop to get a new pair of glasses. While she was choosing lenses, she received another call from her mother.
" Elizabeth ! Where are you now? Two hours ago you said you had arrived at the Guangcheng Hotel, why haven't you seen Mr. Mu yet? He's been waiting for you there for an hour and a half!" The mother's voice was almost roaring.
Elizabeth quickly moved the phone away to avoid being deafened by the noise. After her mother vented her emotions, she put the phone back to her ear and said calmly: "Mom, who told you that Mr. Mu had been waiting for me for an hour and a half? We've only been apart for twenty minutes."
"Mr. Mu called the introducer, and the introducer called me to ask why I hadn't arrived yet." The mother explained, "Mr. Mu also said that your phone couldn't be reached. You just talked on the phone with someone for more than an hour!"
