Unter der Bühne war es schwach beleuchtet. Miles konnte das Lächeln der Kinder neben sich spüren. Neugierig blickte er in ihre Richtung. Die drei Kinder flüsterten mit geheimnisvollen Blicken über irgendwas miteinander. Ab und zu hielten sie sich die Hand vor den Mund, um ihr leises Kichern zu unterdrücken.

Neben ihnen sah Amanda die Kinder mit einem sanften Lächeln an. Es war ein ziemlich zärtlicher Moment. Doch als ihre Augen Miles begegneten, wurde ihr liebevolles Lächeln ganz leicht steif.

Amanda senkte den Blick und fasste sich, bevor sie ihr Gesicht abwandte, sodass Miles nur ihr Profil sehen konnte.
