Zodra mijn voeten de vloer raakten, voelde ik een zwaarte die de lucht vulde. Hoe meer ik de zaklamp bewoog, hoe ongemakkelijker ik me begon te voelen. Blootliggende draden liepen langs de muren, markeringen op het houten plafond leken meer op hekserij dan op kindertekeningen.

Er stonden dozen in de hoek. Er waren er maar een paar in totaal, maar ze waren nogal groot. Gelukkig waren ze niet dichtgeplakt, dus ze waren makkelijk genoeg te openen. Spinnen hadden er hun thuis van gemaakt. Het was niet dat ik bang was voor spinnen, maar het was gewoon iets waar ik liever niet mee in aanraking kwam.

"SHIT!" gilde ik toen er een bijzonder grote uit kroop. Hij rende langs de doos en ging onder een andere liggen.
