Serenity und Zachary waren mittlerweile ein altes Ehepaar.

Eine Weile später kam Serenity aus dem Schlafzimmer und beobachtete, wie Oma May weiter nach ihrer nicht vorhandenen Lesebrille kramte. Serenity sagte: „ Mach dir nichts draus, wenn du sie nicht finden kannst, Nana. Ich gehe später mit dir, um eine neue Brille zu holen.“

„ Na gut. Dann höre ich auf zu suchen. Ich werde alt. Mein Gedächtnis ist nicht mehr so gut. Ich weiß noch, dass ich sie hier hingelegt habe, aber ich kann sie jetzt nicht mehr finden. Vielleicht hat die Brille Beine bekommen und ist weggelaufen.“
